How can artificial intelligence make decision-making more efficient, support risk management and simplify everyday work? These questions were at the centre of the sixth AI and Business Innovation Summit, held on 24 and 25 March 2026 at the Convene conference centre, 155 Bishopsgate, London. Representatives of Mayors of Slovakia attended the event, organised by Economist Events.
The first day, billed as AI for CFOs, looked at the use of artificial intelligence in financial management, planning and risk forecasting. The second part of the event turned to generative and agentic AI, new business models, productivity and the ability of leadership to manage technological change.
Why it matters for municipalities too
Although the summit drew mainly on the business world, several of its principles apply to public institutions as well: a clearly defined problem, good data, human oversight and measured results. The digital services of towns and municipalities must also take personal data protection, transparency and public trust into account.
Taking part gave an overview of technology trends, examples of good practice and professional contacts. For a non-governmental organisation working between local government and the expert sector, these insights are useful above all in judging which digital solutions bring realistic benefits to schools, public administration and regional development.
