SARIO business mission in Lviv opens a discussion on reconstruction projects and regional development

Slovak and Ukrainian companies and municipal representatives met in Lviv. The focus was on partnerships of practical use to towns and regions.

The business mission to Lviv, Ukraine, took place from 10 to 12 March 2026. It was co-organised by the Slovak Investment and Trade Development Agency (SARIO) and the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic for the Recovery Plan and the Knowledge Economy. The programme included expert presentations, pre-arranged meetings between companies and a meeting at Lviv City Hall.

Contacts with companies and with the region’s leadership

Representatives of the non-governmental organisation Mayors of Slovakia also took part in the working talks. Their interest lay in connecting the needs of Ukrainian municipalities with the expertise and solutions of Slovak partners. Business cooperation here has the potential to support not only new commercial contacts but also better local services and the recovery of the regions.

According to the mission programme, eleven Slovak and more than twenty-nine Ukrainian companies met at the business meeting in the Citadel Inn hotel. The discussions were complemented by a presentation of the City of Lviv’s investment plans. The trip also included a bilateral meeting with Maksym Kozytskyi, head of the Lviv Regional Military Administration, on possible areas of further cooperation.

The open ideas included expert and business meetings, networks of contacts between towns and companies, and projects focused on the resilience and health of people working in local government. Whether these proposals are taken further will depend on how ready they are and on the partners’ interest. The mission showed that economic ties and municipal cooperation can naturally complement each other in the recovery of Ukraine.
