How can modern educational tools be brought into the everyday work of schools so that both teachers and pupils benefit from them? This question was the subject of talks between representatives of the Velykobychkivska territorial hromada in the Zakarpattia Region of Ukraine and the non-governmental organisation Mayors of Slovakia, held on 14 September 2026.
The joint discussion focused on the digitalisation of the school environment, interactive teaching and opportunities to connect Slovak and Ukrainian experts. When considering the modernisation of schools, it is essential that new solutions match educational needs, the available equipment and the skills of teaching staff.
Interest in testing solutions in practice
The participants also raised the topic of possible pilot activities. Their value lies in the fact that a school can first gain experience with a chosen approach, evaluate its work with the technology and only then assess the options for extending it further. Expert support and clear rules of cooperation remain important here.
For the Velykobychkivska hromada, the contact that has been established can provide access to the experience of the Slovak education environment and to partners ready to take part in project preparation. The next steps will depend on the needs of specific schools and on mutual agreement between the parties involved.
